【摘要】:Inneutrondosimetry,afissionornon-fissiondosimeter,orcombinationofdosimeters,canbeusedfordeterminingafluence-rate,fluence,orneutronspectrum,orboth,innuclearreactors.Eachdosimeterissensitivetoaspecificenergyrange,and,ifdesired,increasedaccuracyinaflux-spectrumcanbeachievedbytheuseofseveraldosimeterseachcoveringspecificneutronenergyranges.Awidevarietyofdetectormaterialsisusedforvariouspurposes.Manyofthesesubstancesoverlapintheenergyoftheneutronswhichtheywilldetect,butmanydifferentmaterialsareusedforavarietyofreasons.Thesereasonsincludeavailableanalysisequipment,differentcrosssectionsfordifferentfluxlevelsandspectra,preferredchemicalorphysicalproperties,and,inthecaseofradiometricdosimeters,varyingrequirementsfordifferenthalf-lifeisotopes,possibleinterferingactivities,andchemicalseparationrequirements.1.1Thisguidecoverstheselection,design,irradiation,post-irradiationhandling,andqualitycontrolofneutrondosimeters(sensors),thermalneutronshields,andcapsulesforreactorsurveillanceneutrondosimetry.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
