【摘要】:Thistestmethodisastandardprocedurefordeterminingtheairflowcharacteristicsofvariouscomponentsofthewindowsystemunderspecifiedairpressuredifferencesatambientconditions.Note38212;Theairpressuredifferencesactingacrossabuildingenvelopevarygreatly.Thefactorsaffectingairpressuredifferencesandtheimplicationsortheresultingairleakagerelativetotheenvironmentwithinbuildingsarediscussedintheliterature.3,4,5Thesefactorsshouldbefullyconsideredinspecifyingthetestpressuredifferencestobeused.Ratesofairleakagearesometimesusedforcomparisonpurposes.Suchcomparisonsmaynotbevalidunlessthecomponentsbeingtestedandcomparedareofessentiallythesamesize,configuration,anddesign.1.1ThistestmethodisamodifiedversionofTestMethodE283,andprovidesastandardlaboratoryprocedurefordeterminingairleakageseparatelythroughthefaceandsidesofexteriorwindows,curtainwalls,anddoorsunderspecifieddifferentialpressureconditionsacrossthespecimen.Thetestmethoddescribedisfortestswithconstanttemperatureandhumidityacrossthespecimen.Note1Detailingbuildingswithcontinuousairbarriersrequiresthattheairbarrierplaneinawindowsystembeclearlydefined.Whenspecialcircumstancesdictatethattheairbarrierbesealedtothewindowframeatalocationotherthanthatusedtosealthespecimentothetestchamberinthistestmethod,additionallaboratorytestingmayberequiredtoclarifypotentialpathsofairflowthroughthesidesofthewindowframe.Theadaptedtestingproceduredescribedhereinisintendedforthispurpose.1.2Thislaboratoryprocedureisapplicabletoexteriorwindows,curtainwalls,anddoorsandisintendedtomeasureonlysuchleakageassociatedwiththeassemblyandnottheinstallation.Thetestmethodcanbeadaptedforthelatterpurpose.Note2Performingtestsatnon-ambientconditionsorwithatemperaturedifferentialacrossthespecimenmayaffecttheairleakagerate.Thisisnotaddressedbythistestmethod.1.3Thistestmethodisintendedforlaboratoryuse.PersonsinterestedinperformingfieldairleakagetestsoninstalledunitsshouldreferenceTestMethodE783.TestMethodE783willnotprovidetheuserwithameansofdeterminingairflowthroughthesidesoftestedspecimens.1.4Personsusingthisprocedureshouldbeknowledgeableintheareasoffluidmechanics,instrumentationpractices,andshallhaveageneralunderstandingoffenestrationproductsandcomponents.1.5Throughoutthistestmethod,SIunitsarelistedfirstinaccordancewithE06metricpolicy,andshallbeconsideredtheprimaryunits.Non-SIunitsareprovidedinparenthesisforreferencepurposes.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.ForspecifichazardstatementseeSection.
